Dr. Rennet Dietrich, the regional officer of DAAD German foundation and Dr. Helga Baumgarten, DAAD grant coordinator in Palestine visited IUG.
Dr. Kamalain K. Sha’ath, IUG President, Prof. Mohammed Shabat, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Nazmi Al-Masri, Assistant of Vice President for External Relations and Information Technology, Dr. Hala Al-Khozondar, coordinator of External Relations in Vice President for ER & IT Office, other IUG staff members attended the meeting with the delegation in IUG President office.
Dr. Sha’ath talked about the academic march of the Islamic university, its faculties and departments and its relations with the other regional and international institutions.
Dr. Sha’ath referred to the IUG destroying buildings and labs and the support that was offered by local, regional and international institutions and establishments to the Islamic University.
Dr. Dietrich described her admiration of IUG as it offers its services to the Palestinian community generally and its students in particular.
The DAAD director stated that DAAD seeks for supporting the developmental educational project in the Palestinian universities. She declared that the scholarships offered by DAAD aims at rehabilitating staffs in order to serve the Palestinian community.
It is worth mentioning that DAAD offered scholarships in all fields including science, engineering, social sciences and human sciences.
During the visit, the delegation visited the engineering labs and met some of IUG instructors who studied in German universities.
