A Turkish Parliamentary Delegation Visits IUG

A Turkish Parliamentary delegation visited Islamic University of Gaza from the third Lifeline Convoy, headed by Mr. Murad Murjan, a member of Justice and Development Party, Mr. Karamullah Oglu, a member of Felicity Party.

MP. Jamal Naji Al-Khudari – Chairman of Board Trustees, Mr. Khalid Al-Hindi, Secretary of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Kamalain K. Sha’ath, IUG President, Prof. Rifat Rustom – Vice President for External Relations and Information Technology, Dr. Raed Salha – Director of Public Relations received the delegation.

The Turkish Parliamentarians confirmed their support for the Palestinian people as well as the Islamic University of Gaza at the first anniversary of damaging the laboratories buildings and properties of the university during the latest war in the Gaza Strip promising to support the University in light of the imposed blockade to help improving the status of university scientific and academic life.

On his turn, Mp. Al-Khodari appreciates the warm relations between the Palestinian people and the Turkish people adding that there are a real determination to provide support and assistance to the Palestinian people in general and students of the Islamic University in particular from the side of the Turkish

MP. Al-Khodari talked about the conditions of war and sanctions that have a direct threat on the future of nearly (14.000) students out of (20.000) students from IUG, pointing out that these students need assistance to complete the payment of their tuition fees.

For his part, Dr. Sha’ath talked about the achievements of ten faculties of the university over the course of 31 years, and the programs and disciplines offered by the various areas that serve the Palestinian society.

Dr. Sha’ath added that there are depth of relations between the university and its counterparts from local, regional and international universities welcoming the collaboration with the Turkish parliamentary delegation.
