Dr. Kamalain K. Sha’ath, IUG President, received a Malaysian delegation arrived the Gaza Strip with the third lifeline convoy including Colonel Abdulrafe, Director of the Malaysian Bukhari institution for providing assistance and scholarships to Palestinian students in Malaysian universities, and Mr. Zhang Matthews, political adviser to Mr. Mahathir Mohammad – Former Malaysian Prime Minister, and Mr. Ram Karfi Jason – Director of Foundation for Global Peace in Malaysia,
Khalid Al-Hindi, Secretary of the Board of Trustees, Prof. Rifaat Rustom, Vice President for External Relations and Information Technology, and Dr. Raed Salha, Director of Public Relations, participated in receiving the delegation.
Mr. Matthews delivered a message of support for the Palestinian people to the IUG president from the former Malaysian Prime Minister.
The Malaysian delegation expressed sincere wishes for the University to have the growth and prosperity, adding that IUG could be described as a symbol educational steadfastness welcoming students enrollment in Malaysian universities in addition to cooperative relationships between the university and Malaysian universities.
Dr. Sha’ath thanked the delegation for the passionate feelings toward the Palestinian people and for the visit to the University.
Dr. Sha’ath took the delegation to tour around the most important facilities of the university and having a look to destroyed scientific and engineering laboratories, which was attacked during the latest war on the Gaza Strip.
