IUG Professor Awarded Hisham Hijjawi Foundation for Applied Science Award in 2009

Dr. Majid Yassin – Professor of Physiology, Faculty of Medicine in the Islamic University of Gaza, Engineer Salim Abu Amr – from the Department of Water Control at the Ministry of Health – has won the award of Hisham Hijjawi Foundation for Applied Science in 2009 for agriculture and water, for their research entitled: “microbiological contamination in the system distribution of drinking water and its impact on human health in the governorate of Khan Younis in the Gaza Strip “,

The research was supervised around seven years of monitoring during the years 2000 to 2006.

In its seventeenth session, the Foundation of Hisham Hijjawi of Applied Sciences announced the winners, in a ceremony on Tuesday, at the University of Jordan under the auspices of Dr. Turki Obiadat – Secretary General of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Jordan.

However, as a result of the circumstances of the siege imposed on Gaza Strip, Dr. Yasin was prevented to travel to receive the award.
