Architectural Department at IUG Holds a Study Day on the Conditions of Structural Planning in Palestine

Architectural Department, at the Faculty of Engineering, in the IUG, held a Study Day on the “Conditions of Structural Planning in Palestine”.

Dr. Fareed Al- qiq, Vice Dean of Engineering Faculty, Dr. Nader Al- Namara, Chief of Architectural Department, Dr. Mohammed Al- Kahlout, Chief of scientific committee of architectural department, Engineer Nehad Al- Moghanni, Director of Engineering and Planning in Gaza Municipality, Engineer Rasmya Khader from Jabalya Municipality, Engineer Nezar Al- Whedi from Agricultural Department in Agriculture Ministry, Engineer Mohannad Al- Khodari form UNRWA organization attended the editorial meeting.

Dr. Al- Qiq states that Gaza Strip needs a good structural planning in order to re-build the buildings that were damaged in the last war on Gaza.

Dr. Al- Namara declared that this day discusses the problems and challenges that the Palestinian planning faces.

Mr. Khader gave a scientific assignment about the losses of buildings in Jabalya because of the war saying that Jabalya lost 289 buildings war.

Mr. Al- Whedi declared that the challenges that the structural planning faces is caused mainly by the Israeli occupation and its seeking for damaging Gaza buildings, the thing that prevents responsible people from putting strategies to re-construct the damaged buildings.

He added that the negative use of resources contributes to the difficulties of rebuilding. Engineer Al- Moghanni mentioned that the structural planning still faces problems related to the institutional assembly, administrative responsibility of planning, the absence of required data and the lack of participation of the popularity
