Donated By EAP, IUG Opens a Biotechnology Lab

The Islamic university celebrated the inauguration of a lab for the biotechnology department at the Faculty of Science.

The project was funded by the Educational Aid for Palestine (EAP), People in response to the appeal of Resources Development Center at IUG.

Prof. Rifaat Rustom, Vice President for external relations and information technology, Dr. Nizam Al- Ashqar, Science Faculty Dean, Dr. Asaad Asaad, Chief of Resources Development Center, Dr. Aboud Al- Qishawi, Chief of Biology department, Dr. Raed Salha, Public relations Director and a number of staff members from the faculty attended the celebration.

Prof. Rustom praised the British Educational Relief for its great efforts in re-opening the lab that was damaged in the last war on Gaza Strip. He also appreciated the moral and material support that is offered to IUG students by the educational relief. In addition, he thanked the institution for supporting such projects at the university.

Dr. Asaad thanked EAP for its efforts in supporting the university and its students.

It is worth mentioning that 74 labs were damaged during the war on Gaza Strip in addition to some other facilities at the university.

The lab contains high quality valuable equipments such as (PCR) device that is used for genes doubling, genes separating device, searching for genes device, a solution device, autoclave device for sterilization and getting rid of lab samples, an incubator for cultivating tissues and 20 educational microscopes.
