The Conference on Cardiovascular Diseases that was organized by the Faculty of Medicine and European Gaza Hospital and held in the period between 10-11 October 2009 discussed over the five sessions topics related to risk factors and diagnosis of diseases of the heart and blood vessels in the Gaza Strip, the relationship of coronary artery disease with other diseases, the relationship of heart disease, blood vessels, heart surgery, heart defects and blood vessels.
About 1,000 participants belong to different hospitals and universities as well as international persons like Sir Terence English, who performed the first successful heart transplant, who participate in a recorded speech showed in the conference, attended the conference. Participants around the world participated in research papers presented in the conference such as Britain, Turkey, Germany, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia and Palestine.
Recommendations
During these seminars and scientific researches the participants traced many issues and also suggested different recommendations can be summarized as follows:
1 The ministry of Health may be concerned with scientific studies and researches that cope with developments in Cardiology.
2 Collaborating with IUG and national universities in the field of Cardiology.
3 The ministry of Health should support the Ckstrp section by ending up remedy abroad.
4 Measuring the Arterial Blood Pressure for people who suffer from Diabetes.
5 Providing CT equipment in order to reduce work on Ckstrp equipment.
6 Providing more than one Ckstrp equipment.
7 Bringing heart surgeons to run surgeries in Gaza Strip.
8 Caring about children who suffer from Renal Failure.
9 Heart diseases are childhood diseases.
10 Vigorous remedy for people who suffer from Diabetes may protect them from heart diseases.
11 The hardening of the arteries is an illness that might start from childhood period and continues for a long period without observing the complications on the heart and the vascular. As a result of this, this illness should be opposed in earlier periods.
12 The ministry of health should adopt the points system and medical education system.
13 Activating preventive Cardiology clinics.
14 Activating the role of media in opposing smoking.
15 Founding a department for children heart surgery.
16 Bringing efficient doctors in the field of children heart medicine.
