New Class from the Faculty of Education; Primary and Islamic Studies Departments Celebrate Graduation

On Sunday 2 August 2009, Islamic University of Gaza celebrated the graduation of a new class, of its 28th graduation ceremonies, from the Faculty of Education; Primary Studies and Islamic Studies departments. The Faculty of Education was formed in 1980. It seeks to prepare teachers educationally and professionally for teaching in primary and secondary schools in both governmental and private sectors. It also aims to participate in developing the educational process through conducting research in education and psychology, holding training courses and seminars for in service teachers, preparing principals and supervisors.

The ceremony was attended by MP. Jamal Alkhodari, Board of Trustees Chairman, Board of Trustees members, Dr Kamalain Shaath, IUG President, Dr. Adel Awadallah, Vice president for Academic Affairs, university Council members, Dr. Mahmmoud Abu daf, Education faculty Dean, university officials, other academic leaders, businessmen and community leaders.

MP. Alkhodari talked about the role of education in building humans personalities, developing critical thinking, and leading towards achieving future dreams and ambitions.

MP. AlKodari confirmed the Education faculty interest to build and rehabilitate a generation of professional teachers who will be able to guide others to have high standards of mature awareness.

Dr. Awadallah encouraged the graduates to vary and develop their methods and urged students to think critically. He also urged them to be always perseverant and hard working future teachers.

Dr. Awadallah talked about the importance of field training as it bridges the gaps between theory and implementation, and develops abilities and skills.
