Information Technology, at IUG, conducted the first practical step to adopt WEB-WAP-based distributed information system, which is a complete system provides easy access to information about student admissions status, financial aid, grades and transcript, and accounts with the university.
Mr. Ala Ahmed, graduated from Engineering Faculty at IUG, who has the idea of applying the project, clarified that students can register from virtually anywhere and need not come to the university for registration. This will greatly reduce the amount of time the student spends to complete his or her registration, and from the university’s point of view, it will reduce the strain on already limited resources. He added that we may use Bluetooth to communicate with students.
Mr. Ahmed said “If you are a faculty member, you will be able to handle advising, course enrollment, grading and other tasks in real time. If you are on staff in admissions, financial aid, the registrars’ offices or student accounts, you will be able to handle routine tasks more efficiently, so that you can focus on the big picture.”
