Dr. Adnan Enshasi, Dean of Engineering Faculty at IUG, announced launching the Engineering Studies and Consultation Centre. Dr. Enshasi noted that the centre will focus on practical researches in addition to the distinctive consultant activities of the faculty.
Dr. Enshasi referred that the centre aims at offering special engineering consultations for governmental institutions and Private Sector companies in addition to developing the professional and research work of the faculty members, which will definitely make their performance better in the different courses.
Dr. Enshasi added that the centre aims at finding alternatives to the basic products in the Strip which is not produced locally such as the different building materials adding that there is a chance to conduct researches in the modern technology in order to develop the local industry.
Dr. Muhammed Husin, vice Engineering Faculty Dean for Planing and Scientific Research, clarified that the centre will get the benefit from the faculty members abilities in addition to exploiting the enhanced laboratories and preparations which are related to the faculty.
Dr. Alaeddinne Eljamassi , Director of the Centre, talked about the expected achievements to the center. He said that the centre will participate in a number of activities, including: suggesting engineering consultations to some international and local institutions; preparing studies and support in the field of geographical information system; putting criteria to the Private Sector companies to get ISO 9000 certificate; evaluating the environmental impact of projects.
The project also will offer consultant services, including: urban planning; environment and earthquake engineering, roads and engineering contracts; assessment of the affected facilities; supervising some repairs to protect the physical legacy of the historic city of Gaza; holding training courses; organizing scientific conferences and workshops.
