Launching MVU Labs at IUG

IUG launched new labs for the MVU on the presence of Dr Kamalain Shaat, IUG President, Dr Mohamed Asqoul, Academic Affairs vice President, Dr Salem Heles, IUG Vice President for Administrative Affairs, Dr Rifat Rustom, IUG Vice President for IT and External Affairs, and Dr Hatem Hamad, Project Director. IUG is considered one of the 11 partners enrolled in the Mediterranean Virtual University. The MVU lab contains modern equipments to support learning process; it consists of two labs that are used to provide the best techniques for researchers, E-learning and the university in general. Lab No 1 is facilitated with video conferencing equipments including IP Camera, Projector and MPEG- Encoder for live streaming events. The lab contains 15 HP laptops for lectures over video conference, distance learning, and E-learning. Each participant can work on his/her laptop during the lecture. Lab equipments are 15HP Laptops, View Station, HP LCD, Subwoofer, and Projection Screen. Lab No 2 is the place of the main services where all the services are located. It includes a Web Server with installed Moodle for E-learning courses, streaming server that is used to publish lectures on internet on demand, a multimedia encoding workstation for video editing, lab server and 5PCs. The specifications of the devices are Web Server, Streaming Server, Encoding Station, Firewall & Antivirus, Router, and 5PCs.
