Mr Alexander Eberl, Second Secretary; Head of Press, Cultural and Protocol Affairs at Representative, visited IUG and was received by Dr. Kamalain Shaat, IUG President, Dr. Rifaat Rustom, Vice President for External Relations and IT and Prof. Adel Awadallah, Dean of Scientific Research, Dr. Shaat welcomed the guest and briefed him on IUG situation under closure and the problems students face in paying tuition fees. Dr.Shaat discussed with Mr.Eberl the siege which affects mobility of IUG staff especially in scientific conferences and meetings.
On his turn Dr. Rustom assured the role played by KFW in supporting schools in Palestine which should be extended to include universities. Mr.Ebrel discussed with IUG staff the academic exchange with IUG which is impeded by difficulty in political situation and daily suffering for Palestinians.
