Dr. Kamalain Shaat, IUG President, received Mr. Chris Shinn, Chief of Party for Palestinian Faculty Development Program (PFDP) at AMIDEAST on 19th Sept, 2006.
Dr. Shaat welcomed Mr. Shinn and discussed with him ways of cooperation as AMIDEAST participates through its program in developing Palestinian Faculty on two dimensions; the first is long-term program that enables number of the staff to get PhD degree and the second, which is short-term program.
Dr. Shinn and Dr. Bassam Assaqa, Assistant of vice President of Academic Affairs, met with IUG staff interested in AMIDEAST programs. Dr. Shinn briefed them on the offered programs and techniques of nominating interested staff to such scholarships. On his turn, Dr. Saqqa encouraged the staff to do their best to get such scholarships. At the end of the meeting, Mr. Shinn responded to the enquiries related to the staff fields of specialization.
