IUG was awarded the Islamic Bank prize for scientific distinction in May, 2006. Faculty of Science was awarded the prize after a competition with different Islamic and Arab universities. Faculty of Science presented 700 research papers 400 papers were in the last 6 years. The faculty organized more than 20 scientific days and conference besides the periodical lectures. Professor Adel Awadallah, Dean of Scientific Research, said that most of the achievements were after establishing scientific labs building that was funded by Islamic Bank. These labs offered additional resources for research at IUG.
