IUG and IR Launches Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory
Faculty of Science at IUG launched a laboratory of Molecular Diagnostic in cooperation with the Islamic Relief in Palestine (IRPAL), on the presence of Dr Kamalain Shaat, IUG President; Dr Naser Farahat, Dean of Faculty of Science at IUG, and Dr Mohamed Al-Sousy, Islamic Relief Representative in Palestine.
IUG received generous monetary support by the Islamic relief in Palestine (IRPAL), through partnership agreements that were signed on Feb 12th, 2006 and stated that (IR) provides IUG with approximately ($328,289) excluding VAT for purchasing required equipments for the Molecular Diagnostic Laboratory (MDL).
The Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory offers rapid, precise and accurate diagnostics test results. The laboratory seeks to reduce many inherited diseases through conducting prenatal diagnostic tests. The project provides opportunities for students and researchers to carry out and developing relevant techniques.
The laboratory carries out tests of inherited diseases, patients of various types of tumors, patients of various types of cancer, and patients of several types of infections.
