Faculty of Arts organized its conference for Martyer Ahmed Yasin from 21st-23rd March 2005 that took place in the conference center and was attended by official personalities, ministers, ambassadors legislative members, academics students and a crowd of people. In the opening ceremony, Dr Ahmed Bahar, Deputy Dean of Faculty of Arts and Chairman of the organizing committee, talked about his faculty efforts in organizing this conference on the 1st anniversary of Shaikh Yassin martyrdom, he added that 52 papers presented in the Conference to Shaikh Yassin personality among his people. Professor Mahmoud Alamoudy, Chairman of the Conferane and Dean of Faculty of Arts, talked about the Conference idea of the 3 day conference which has 8 sessions and six approaches, The first in literature That resembles the image of Shaik Yasin in poetry and his personality that affected Arab and Islamic world as being assassinated despite his disability and discase. The second approach is in Media which concentrated on coverage of Shaikh Yasin assassination. The third is Dawa which resembles Shaik Yasin achievements in establishing institutions to develop Islamic education and serve the community. The fourth is the political approach which emphasises the role of Shaikh Yasin in resisting the occupation. The fifth is the educational approach in which personality of Shaikh Yasin was reflected on his principles of change and educational implications. The last approach is the Social which reflects Shaikh Yasin interaction, altruism and cooperation. On his turn Mr Jamal Al Khodary, Chariman of Board of Trustees, asked research students to be cretive in all fields in order to serve Palestinian Society. He added that lessons should be learnt from Shaikh Yasin life as his personality is a Unique one. Mr Mahdy Akef leader of Muslims Ekhwan in Egypt asked Palestinians to concentrate on national unity as this was Shaikh Yasin aim in his life. He refered to Israeli violations and asked all Muslims to be involved in responsibility to help Palestinians. Dr Atallah Hanna, spokesman of Orthodox Church in Jerusalem, talked about Shaikh Yasin as a model of Palestinian hard working nationalist discrediting his morals. Mr Abdel Fattah Dokhan, one of Ekhwan founders in Gaza, described Shaikh Yasin as being a nation in forming the glory of Palestine. In the End of the opening ceremony, attendants moved to the exhibition held on the occasion for Shaikh Yasin belongings.
