Right and Law Center Concludes an Electronic University Initiatives Project to Enhance Youth Political Participation

Right and Law Center at the College of Sharia and Law at the Islamic University concluded an electronic university initiatives project to enhance the political participation of Palestinian youth, in cooperation with the Central Elections Commission, and with funding from the European Union, in the presence of: Prof. Dr. Alyan Al-Hawali - Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Dr. Tayseer Ibrahim - Dean of the College of Sharia and Law, and from the Central Elections Committee, Dr. Jamil Al-Khalidi - Director of the Committee's Regional Office, Dr. Muhammad Abu Al-Khair - Coordinator of the Gaza Department, and Professor Raed Saqr - Head of the Department of Media Public Relations and, and a group of participants in the project from the Islamic University and the Elections Committee Central.
Prof. Al-Huli said, “This positive interaction from the Islamic University with civil society institutions is in order to contribute to the development society.” He continued, “The university plays basic roles in teaching, scientific research, and community service, and this activity comes within a series of activities with the Central Elections Commission, to serve the younger generation."

Professor Al-Hawali pointed to the need to provide an appropriate environment to support and develop ideas and positive tendencies, to integrate them to obtain a better future for the Palestinian society, and explained that the implemented projects are to shape the students' personality and enhance their participation in all areas of life.


Dr. Al-Khalidi illustrated that the projects that were held with the Islamic University are witnessing success due to the efforts made by the university, and the provision of all necessary support to it. He indicated that the committee focuses on the youth sectors largely because of their importance in building the future and the progress of the nation.
Dr. Ibrahim elaborated that the project aims at building the capacities of Palestinian youth in political issues and raising their awareness of the foundations of political participation to promote the principles of democracy and good governance.
The ceremony included a presentation on the project, and the participants from the Islamic University and the Central Elections Committee were honored.

Relating to the project, Right and Law Center at the College of Sharia and Law at the Islamic University held the final ceremony for the activities of the Electronic Initiatives Project to enhance the political participation of Palestinian youth in the Great Conference Hall of the Conference Center, in the presence of Dr. Tayseer Ibrahim - Dean of the College of Sharia and Law, and Dr. Muhammad Abu al-Khair - Coordinator of the Gaza Department In the elections committee, a number of members of the academic and administrative staff at the university, representatives of the election committee, and a group of university students participating in the project.

Moreover. Dr. Ibrahim said that the project mainly targeted the students of the Islamic University, and the Palestinian community in general. He explained that it aims to build the capacities of Palestinian youth in various political issues, and raise their awareness of the foundations of political participation.
