Call for Accounting and Financial Consultant

The Islamic University of Gaza (IUG) has received a grant from the Quality Improvement Fund (QIF) – Ministry of Education and Higher Education and funded by the World Bank for the project entitled: Operation and Development for Islamic University IT Incubator’. Accordingly, IUG intends to apply part of this grant for the selection and employment of highly qualified Accounting and financial Consultant.

Assignment Objective:

Islamic University of Gaza is considering the selection of highly qualified Accounting and financial Consultant to be part of the small core staff responsible for the implementation and development of the project.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

The Accounting and financial Consultant will support the implementation and the development of the project through the following:

1. Review feasibility studies and financial plans submitted by applicants, and to produce financial recommendation report for submitted projects.

2. Provide financial and technical assistance for accepted projects to prepare adequate financial plans and to start their accounting system.

3. Conduct 1 day training program for each project team (5 projects), including preparing material, in the field of accounting and financial management of micro business project.

Deliverables:

Step 1: (for the first accepted two projects)

  1. Evaluation report for feasibility studies submitted by applicants(at least 10 projects)
  2. Reviewed and enhanced the feasibility study reports.(for selected 2 projects)
  3. Conducting 1 day training program (1 day for each project), Material and evaluation report for the training program.
  4. Final Summary report for financial and accounting services provided for tenant.(for the 2 projects)

Step 2: (for the remaining accepted three projects)

  1. Reviewed and enhanced feasibility study reports.(for selected 3 projects)
  2. Conducting 1 day training program (1 day for each project), Material and evaluation report for the training program.
  3. Final Summary report for financial and accounting services provided for tenant.(for the 3 projects)

Time frame:

The duration of contract will be from 01/05/2008 to 31/08/2008

For step1: One month after signing the contract

For step2: Three months after completing step 1

Place of work: Islamic university of Gaza

Essential Required Qualifications, Skills, knowledge and Competencies:

  • At least BSc. degree in business administration, accounting or other related field.
  • At least two years of professional experience in projects accounting.
  • Extensive knowledge of business project evaluation and development.
  • Excellent reporting and formal writing skills in both English and Arabic.
  • Excellent technical and interpersonal skills,
  • Excellent Command of English Language.

Contract Type: Lump Sum Contract.
