Board of Trustees Letter

Since 30 years of its establishment, IUG
has managed to provide quality academic education and serve the local community.
With the help and support of all good people in the world, the university campus
was converted from simple tents and barracks of asbestos to a modern campus with
recent facilities that match the best in the world. IUG has world-wide relations
with tens of academic institutions and universities and has many international
academic awards. IUG professors, students and graduates proved the best success
in the labor market as well as creative research.
During 30
years of achievements, thousands of distinguished students have been graduated
from IUG, in more than 50 majors, in the fields of science, engineering, human
and religion. Also, IUG has its impressive role in the field of scientific
research.
Unfortunately, the Israeli jets have turned the modern equipped buildings into
ashes to get 74 scientific labs, including thousands of scientific machines,
under those destroyed buildings. The other buildings of the university have been
partially damaged. Since its establishment, IUG has faced many challenges and
restrictions imposed by the Israeli military authorities. However, the
university steadfast and continued its way of success and achievement to help
the Palestinian society.
The bombing
and shelling come at a time IUG faces major financial difficulties as many
students’ families cannot pay fees due to high rate of unemployment caused by
the siege imposed by the Israeli army.
The Board of
Trustees launched this campaign to reconstruct the university and to help its
students. We certainly depend on Allah as well as on the faithful people from
Arabic, Islamic nations and humans in the world.
We will
continue our message of learning generations as an important way of perseverance
in the Palestinian land. Taking part of reconstructing the university and
helping its students will be a continued benefaction, a participation of
continuing the learning message and a help to the Palestinian community.
