About IUG

Islamic University of Gaza is an independent academic institution located in Gaza. IUG is one of the biggest universities all over Palestine. More than 20.000 students study at the Islamic University. IUG has ten faculties, including: Medicine Faculty, Engineering, Science, IT, Nursing, Commerce, Arts, Education, Sharia & Law and Ussul A-Din. IUG, which started 30 years ago with tents, became a significant institution works hard and looking at the future in a great hope.

IUG is a member of four associations: International Association of Universities, Community of Mediterranean Universities, Association of Arab Universities and Association of Islamic Universities.

Strategic Goals

IUG endeavors to advance learning, foster the expansion of knowledge through teaching and research and encourage community service. In fulfillment of this purpose, we hold the following strategic plans at the heart of our endeavor:

          Encouraging scientific research.

          Promoting academic cooperation in different fields with the local and foreign institutions.

          Developing the use of IT in teaching and designing distance learning courses.

          Enhancing the quality of education in terms of upgrading instructors, updating curricula and improving teaching-learning facilities.

          Reinforcing fieldwork and the practical skills of learning and searching through graduation projects, training and practice.
