MA Student Ranked First In Al-Taawon Award For Distinguished Teacher

The Ministry of Higher Education in Palestine has declared, via Videoconference, the results of Al-Taawon Award for Distinguished Teacher (Moneer Al-khalouti Award) for 2019.

According to the Ministry, IUG master student, Rana Zeyada, has been ranked first at the level of Gaza, West Bank, Jerusalem, and people in Diaspora, and in 1948 areas. Nominated for the Award, Zeyada has been given this prize on her innovation of employing brand-new teaching methods in the learning process; particularly, using the integrative approach in Mathematics.

This award aimed at increasing creativity and excellence in the teaching process, and encouraging teachers to adopt cutting-edge and innovative teaching methods so that could improve the students' ability in research, training, and teaching. Furthermore, it sought to create a generation with efficient skills to compete at international levels and capable of occupying advanced positions. Moreover, it linked the educational process with what students, in particular, and community, in general, need.


Dr. Zeyad Thabet, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education, extended loads of congratulations to the winner teacher, saying: "Rana is a role-model for all teachers in Palestine. Not only in this prize she was creative, but also she has a history full of creativity and distinguish as she ranked first in Palestine in 2017". "According to Farki Institution, Rana ranked among 50 best teachers in the world," he added.

Prof. Ibrahim Al-Astal, the Dean of IUG Faculty of Education, cherished this unique success, addressing all students in the faculty to follow after her, saying: " Rana is an excellent student who held her master degree in curriculum and teaching methods from the Islamic university. This achievement is a push up for all students and teachers in the faculty".

To her Professors, supervisors, and instructors, Mrs. Zeyada posted a thankful word on her Facebook account, appreciating all those who gave a supportive hand during her journey along.
