Irada Youth With Disabilities Produce Masks In response to COVID19

12 - May - 2020

In coincidence with Coronavirus outbreak, IUG Irada Center has carried out a project to produce medical masks in the center's sewing workshops.

The project is funded by Al-khair Institution with a view to support the Gazan Community in the time of COVID19, especially to enable and employ a number of female and male students with disabilities who are training at the center. This interference of Al-kahir Institution pours into two dimension: First, it helps disseminate the awareness about COVID19 and its ways of infection and the important of putting a mask as a tool for a precautionary measure. Second, this interference finds job opportunities for youth and women with disabilities through raising up the demands on their productions, which can minimize the numbers of poverty and unemployment among them.

One of the trainee at the center told that this kind of training has added a lot to her experience since it is the first time for her to make a mask.

Another student said, " I am happy that Irada is so keen to enable us in the midst of closure sue to coronavirus".

It is a must to say that Al-Khair Institution has previously offered funding for developing 5 training workshops in Irada Center. These workshops include vocational specializations that are needed for the business market.
