Opening of "Competence Center for IT"

Prof. ALaa AL-Halies, BITPAL coordinator, said in an interview, "this center is a supportive step toward rehabilitating students to engage the private sector with topnotch practical skills".   

The faculty of Information Technology in partnership with the Computer Engineering Dep. has celebrated the opening of the "Competence Center for IT" which targets the IT and Engineering students as to be offered with a plenty of training and development of their skills in the field of using the smart programs.  

Opening the center has been included under the activities of BITPAL project, funded by Erasmus+ programme of the European Union. The center has included 20- Imark computers that distinguished of high rapidity and specialized programs which operate IUS smart programme. The center comes as a fruitful outcome of the project entitled, "Development of innovation in the curricula of IT programs in Palestine" which has been implemented with four Palestinian Universities: Al-Azhar, UCAS, Al-Aqsa, and BETA Company.  

Dr. Alaa Al-Mabhooh, member of BITA administrative council said: this project aims at bridging the gap between the IT graduates in five universities and the private institutions".

The project enhances the Palestinian IT curricula through the development of the infrastructure of the academic plans to be suited for the business market needs. The partners of the project shed the lights on the entrepreneurship concepts and the critical effect of freelancing on bettering the situation. Throughout the project, the partners seek to build the bridges of cooperation and partnership with the business incubators and local institutions. This project aims at providing a good training for graduate students of IT faculty as well as rehabilitating the academic and administrative staff in acquiring the best pedagogical practices.
