IUG visit to Humboldt University comes to empower teachers in inclusive education in Palestine.

Prof. Nazmi Masri asserted on his Facebook page that the IUG delegation visit to Humboldt University in Germany has produced a series of fruitful intensive meetings on the topic of Inclusive Education in Palestine. The four-working meetings have included a specialist educational team from four Palestinian Universities: Islamic University-Gaza, Al-Quds University, Birzeit University and An-Najah University; in addition to Humboldt University in Germany and the University of Vienna in Austria.

"Inclusive Education in Palestine" targets training the academics of the Palestinian Universities so that be empowered to practice the inclusive teaching skills in their classes which will lead to tangible improvements in special-needs students' teaching.

The four-days discussions have laid down the foundations of the project as they, joint universities, set the objectives, agreed on the activities, distributed the operational roles among partner Universities, organized for further working and following-up visits; and most importantly, will develop and implement a new university diploma in the inclusive education field.

This visit comes as part of the international mobility project funded by the European Erasmus+ programme. It has honored by Prof. Nazmi Masri, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Arts; Prof. Saeed Al Ghura, Dean of Community Service and Continuing Education; Prof. Hazem Shehadeh, Director of the Institute of Community Development Prof. Mnwar Najm, Head of Pedagogy Department.

It is worth mentioning that the project's proposal will be presented to the next invitation of the Erasmus+ within the capacity building of higher education institutions. The delegation members met with IUG mobility students at Humboldt University; they seemed grateful and lucky for winning this opportunity as it has left them living in a tremendous cultural experience.
