Qatar Grants 300,000$ to IUG

During his visit to IUG, the Ambassador Mohammad Al-Omadi, chairman of Qatar Committee for the reconstruction of Gaza, bestowed a financial support equal 300 thousand $ to the Islamic university. The grant targeted certificates of needy graduates who have not been able to release them; in addition, it paid the university fees of (516) needy students and graduates who meet the criteria of the grant.

The delegation included Mr. Khaled Al Hardan, Vice-president of Qatar Committee, and Eng. Yousef Al Ghraiz, the Committee Consultant.  The AmbassadorAl- Omadi confirmed that the State of Qatar is still exerting a tireless effort in providing all kinds of services and institutional support that contribute, in a way or another, to alleviating the Palestinian suffering; in which students, graduates, workers and the unemployed are the most affected by.

The delegation has been hosted by IUG President Prof. Nasser Farahat, Vice- president for academic affairs Prof. Salem Hilles, Vice-president for administrative affairs, Prof.  Majid Al-Farra, Dean of Foreign Affairs Prof.  Ahmed Mohaisen, Director of Public Relations Department, Dr. Saeed Al Namrouti,  and a host of students and academicians.

The Ambassador Al-Omadi clarified that the urgent grant presented by the Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani is an extension of the large projects Qatar has provided to the Gaza Strip. Qatar grants have been given due to the difficult economic conditions that still storming with the strip.

IUG President Prof. Nasseer Farahat praised the trial of Qatar Committee in lifting the siege on the Palestinian society by supporting students and every aspect of life in hospitals and institutions.

On behalf of his colleagues, the student Amjad Al-Masri thanked the State of Qatar that has still been supporting Palestinians since calamities stroke the strip, stating that Qatar charitable donations always drew a smile on the students’ faces.

In the framework of the visit, the Ambassador has signed an agreement with IUG to "Support Tuition of University Students and Graduates in the Gaza Strip: the Gift of His Highness Prince Tamim bin Hamad, Emir of the State of Qatar for Emergency Humanitarian Relief for the Gaza Strip 2018”. The Ambassador Al-Omadi has signed the agreement on behalf of the committee of the reconstruction for Gaza.
