Preface:
With the advent of the 21st century and the accelerated steps of development in all fields of life and our belief in the Islamic University role in disseminating knowledge and keeping abreast of scientific and technological progress and under the urgent need for a better life at both national and international levels, the Faculty of Science at the Islamic University and in cooperation with the Deanship of Scientific Research announces the launching of the "Third International Conference for Science and Development". The conference will discuss new and genuine research related to development, environment and basic and applied sciences. It will also provide an opportunity for scientists and researchers from Palestine and abroad to exchange views and discuss relevant issues.
Conference goals:
1. Present the most recent scientific studies in order to keep abreast of development in various fields.
2. Enhance the role of universities in civil society and direct scientific research to serve society.
3. Creation of an environment that helps scientific expertise to communicate and interact in various areas of basic and applied sciences.
4. Finding solutions to environmental and developmental issues, especially at the local level.
Note: The conference will present several lectures for distinguished scientists.
Themes:
1. Mathematical and natural sciences (Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry).
2. Life and health sciences.
3. Environment, water and energy.
Participation in the conference:
The Faculty of Science and Deanship of Scientific Research welcome participation in the conference. Researchers, who are not able to attend in person, have the opportunity to participate in the activities through Video Conference. Grants are available for covering residence expenses of researchers from outside Gaza Strip for the duration of the conference.
Submission of extended abstracts:
1. Research extended abstracts should be prepared in accordance with the attached form and should be sent to the Organizing Committee through the conference e-mail.
2. All extended abstracts will be evaluated
3. Researches presented at previous conferences will not be accepted.
4. The registration form should be filled and sent by e-mail.
5. Accepted research abstracts will be published in the conference proceedings.
Important dates:
Deadline for submission of extended abstract 15th Dec 2008.
Deadline for notification of acceptance 1 st Jan 2009.
Conference Dates 7-8 March 2009.
